The challenge
Class booking app with membership packs and smart waitlists.
The studio filled most classes through a third-party marketplace. It worked, but the studio didn’t own its customer list, paid commission on regulars and couldn’t run its own packs or promotions.
Twelve reformer beds per class meant waitlists were constant, and managing them by hand meant empty beds when people cancelled late.
What we did
Our approach
- Book in two tapsOpen the app, tap a class. Saved preferences and card details handle the rest.
- Waitlists that promote automaticallyWhen someone cancels, the next person is booked and notified, with a cut-off so nobody is surprised at 6am.
- Packs and membershipsCredit packs, monthly unlimited and intro offers, all with clear expiry dates.
- One system, two screensThe same design system powers the member app and the front-desk tablet.
In hindsight
What we’d do differently
Leaving the marketplace cost the studio new customers for the first two months, because discovery had come from there. We should have planned an intro-offer campaign for launch week rather than after the dip showed up.
Results
S$4,100Saved each month in marketplace commission
87%Average class occupancy
68%Of members on a pack or membership
Client
“Our regulars moved over in two weeks. The waitlist alone fills five or six beds a day that used to go empty.”
